Joshua J. Lynch is a national leader in addiction medicine and an expert on how to improve access to medication-assisted treatment for people with substance use disorders.

Lynch can speak to media about the opioid crisis and the role of emergency medicine physicians in expanding access to medication-assisted treatment for people with substance use disorders.

He is the founder and medical director of New York MATTERS, a statewide program that provides medication-assisted treatment to opioid use disorder patients in emergency departments and rapidly transitions them into long-term treatment at a community clinic of their own choosing, all within about 24-48 hours. He can discuss the efficacy of New York MATTERS and programs like it at providing long-lasting treatment for persons with substance use disorders.

In Western New York, he has served as a membe of the Erie County Opioid Epidemic Task Force.
